Main Character (Name, Level, Class, and Server):
Herbadoc/65/Burglar/Elendilmir
Main Character Crafting Profession (Supreme Master at anything?):
Supreme Master Jeweller
Alt Characters (Name, Level, and Class):
Bomba/64/Hunter/Elendilmir
Your Lord of the Rings Online Experience!
I was a closed beta tester for Shadows of Angmar and have been playing Lord of the RIngs Online since launch. Last semester I moved to Colorado for school purposes and took a break from the game, but now I'm back.
How long have you been playing LOTRO?:
3 years
How long have you been on Elendilmir?:
3 years
What do you feel is your biggest accomplishment in-game?:
As a member of nyX I was in the kin's regular Mines of Moria raid and was in the kinship's first group to successfully defeat Watcher 1.0/2.0 and Blind One.
How much LOTRO Raiding-Experience do you have?:
I have a lot of raiding experience.
If any, how much of the current Radiance Set do you have?:
I have full watcher set on Herbadoc and Bomba. On Herbadoc i'm currently at 105 radiance, trying to get enough so i can participate in the new Mirkwood raid.
Tell us a bit more about your character!
I enjoy playing both the burglar and hunter class and have been playing both since launch. I have a complete understanding of what is expected from both classes in a fellowship and raiding situation.
What level are your virtues for the most part (7, 8, 9, 10s?):
10
What do you feel like you are missing to be complete with all of your gear? (if applicable):
My gear is very good, but i'd like more radiance.
How much morale do you have now? Are you happy with it?:
With my watcher set equiped my morale is 5681, I'm happy with that.
What do you think you need to improve on?:
Radiance.
Tell us a bit about your Grouping Experiences!
I know the role of my two main classes very well. I've been with nyX since SoA and have tons of experience in 3/6/12 man groups.
Are you a leader or a follower?:
I consider myself a productive contributor to the group. I'm not a raid leader, but I like to know my role and get it done without having to be told twice. I have a mic but i typically only use it if I'm instructed to call out something like wounds, tentacles ect.
Exploits. Please tell us your experiences with them and opinion:
I'm not an exploiter, I'm aware of them, such as standing in doors to avoid damage (Helegrod, DD), but i prefer to do encounters the intended way.
If a group is wiping.. What do you do? Explain!:
I'll typically try to continue with the game plan until everyone else is dead, and if all hope is lost ill HiPS or go die where i can be rezzed.
Is it all fun and games to you or very serious business?:
It's a fun game but raid encounters are mostly serious business.
A few personal/random questions for you!
How old are you? (18 and older is required):
24
What Timezone are you in?:
Mountain Standard
Do you take criticism well?:
If it's constructive.
Our Raid schedule is such: Saturday, Sunday, Tuesday 7 PM EST. Can you commit to this schedule?:
I can commit to Saturdays and Sundays, my work would interfere with tuesday nights until around 1am est.
A few more random questions!
What is your current or most recent Kinship/Server?:
I'm currently a member of nyX.
Why have you left, or why are you wanting to leave your current Kinship/Server?:
I've been contemplating leaving nyX for a number of reasons. The complection of the kinship has changed over the years and many of the people i used to group with have left the kinship or the game. The leadership of the kinship has changed and I'm no longer familiar with most members of the kinship. My lifestyle has changed so I'm no longer on during their most active times. I have only good memories of being a member of nyX, I just don't think it's the best fit for me anymore.
Do you understand that some raids call for specific raid makeups and we may ask you to sit out for a class that is more useful for the situation?:
Yes.
Can you give us a heads up at least a day in advance if you believe are going to be unable to attend a raid?:
Yes. I can make my cell phone available for text in the case that I could not make an event that I committed to, or if I was going to be late.
Are you a Dorf?:
No. Herbadoc is a Hobbit and Bomba is a Dwarf.
While farming for resources (wood, ore, etc.) you come upon someone who is fighting a mob close to the node, do you take it or leave it? What if they seem afk for a moment, do you take it or leave it?:
I would leave it, there's plenty more where that came from.
Final Stretch!
Why do you want to join Preying Mantis?:
I'm thinking it would be more active during my playing hours than my current kin. I'm interested in end game content and making new friends. I've been on Elendilmir for 3 years and have a pertty good idea of what Preying Mantis is about.
What can you contribute to Preying Mantis? As a player and as a person?:
As a player i can contribute a capable burglar or hunter in any encounter. I have a vast knowledge of the game from level 1-65. I like group encounters and am very flexible. I can bring either class and like the 3 and 6 man fellowships as well. I like all aspects of this game and originally started playing it because I love Tolkien and wanted the Middle-Earth experience. This game delivers Middle-Earth and thats why I love it. As a person I'm friendly and helpful. I'm a current student at CU Boulder and recently moved here from Southern California where I was born and raised.
Anything else you would like to say? Comments, questions?:
Thanks for considering my application.

Very nice application.
We've sort of closed recruiting right now, but we don't have any burglar mains raiding these days - so honestly, you're the one class we might reopen recruiting for. I'll talk to Eomin and Malibuphor tomorrow and we'll see what we can do.
One of us should contact you late Saturday or sometime Sunday or, at the very least, we'll post an update here.

Update that isn't really an update (like Brett Favre news): officers didn't get a chance to talk this weekend, so I can't yet say one way or the other whether we're recruiting or not. Sorry.

I know Bomba from way way back btw.
He is def a good guy and I'm sure he knows what he's doing with his Burglar.
If you need a Burg, you should def grab him while you can =P

Hey man, sorry for the long delay between responses. Per Eomin (our leader), we've closed recruitment at this time. As he says, that could change in two weeks or six months, so check back occasionally.
Sorry again.

If in the future the need arises to recruit a burglar or hunter feel free to hit me up in-game, thanks again for considering my app.
